Today we looked at a video on TED on educational research done on self-teaching by Mitra Sugatta. The main theme I took from this video was that students will teach themselves if they have the interest and encouragement (the grandmother cloud) - or at least they can do amazing things. Collaboration between students (teaching each other) was also emphasized.  Bridge It and VC are technologies being used to connect students and teachers around the province. With Bridge It one person can work on a computer and others can see it on their screen. We learned that "cloud technology" refers to a computer terminal holding data "out there".  With JING videos or pictures can be put into the Learning Management System that is being used. Jean demonstrated how it is used on the Moodle Learning Management System he used for this class. Moodle is similar to D2L which I saw used in the school system. Lastly we created a Wiki space and created three pages. The first page was our Home page, the second page was our Collaboration Page. On this page we downloaded the work we did yesterday on Google documents and then uploaded it to Wikispace for teachers. https://eder-669-73-heather-schmuland.wikispaces.com/
